Anthony Edwards’ sophomore signature model continues its speedy takeover of the hardwood – but this latest look is strictly for the college elite (sorry, fam). The adidas AE 2 ‘Kansas Jayhawks’ PE has surfaced via the university’s own channels, delivering a bold player-exclusive colourway that taps directly into KU pride.

Built for one of adidas’ flagship basketball programs, the pair leans heavily into Jayhawks DNA. A split blocking scheme drives the visual punch, with Kansas’ signature blue and red flowing across the upper in mismatched fashion. Yellow laces nod to the Jayhawk mascot’s beak, while a prominent heel graphic leaves no doubt about the school allegiance.

The mismatch approach isn’t entirely new to the AE 2 ecosystem, but it remains a relatively rare flex outside select drops. Its appearance here suggests adidas are increasingly comfortable letting Edwards’ line experiment with bolder storytelling and team-driven executions.

Unfortunately for the wider public, this one lives firmly in PE territory. Unless you’ve got a locker inside Allen Fieldhouse – or serious luck on the secondary market – the Kansas-exclusive colourway won’t be hitting retail shelves anytime soon.

Still, as the Anthony Edwards signature series continues to build momentum, moments like this show just how versatile the AE 2 platform can be when handed over to the right program.
