The Air Jordan 5 may have celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2020, but it looks like we’re still getting some new colourways in the new year, including this leaked ‘Orange Blaze’ rendition. Debuting in 1990, the Tinker Hatfield design was inspired by the P-51 Mustang WW2 fighter plane, which is where the aggressive shark-toothed mouths on the midsole come from.

We’ve had a few OG colourways light up the 2020 roster, and this never-before-seen combination comes blazing through in a Sail, ‘Orange Blaze’, Metallic Silver, and black. We haven’t got any IRL imagery yet, but a mock-up suggests there will be extended netting on the ankle collar area. The upper wears the Sail tones, while the Metallic Silver finds its way to the tongues and shark-teeth detailing along the midsole.

For the ‘Blaze’, there’s bright orange on the lining and midsole, while the outsole will have a translucent finish. Just rumours at this stage, but there’s suggestions that the heel branding will be done in the fan-favourite ‘Nike Air’ style. Fingers crossed that’s the case!

No official confirmation from Beaverton as yet, the Air Jordan 5 ‘Orange Blaze’ is predicted to release on September 25, 2021, at select retailers and via Nike.
