If the Hellstar x adidas linkup was a romance, it'd be the kind where they wear vials of one another's blood 'round their necks. They may only be two colabs deep, but you can tell the Three Stripes were immediately smitten with the LA-born streetwear label, whose rapid ascent has come courtesy of devotees like Young Thug and Post Malone. How do we know adi are down bad? Just look at what they let Hellstar do last year to the Superstar, the iconic model usually reserved for the high-brow CLOTs and AVAVAVs of the scene. Now we have the sequel, which sees Hellstar beam their horror-pop laser onto the Superstar silhouette once again... except it's a cleat.

Why? We can only guess it's related to Super Bowl LX, though while we'd love to see these somewhere near the gridiron at that event, both teams' sponsorships tends to lean Nike-heavy.

Aside from the outsole, these cleats present a pretty faithful inversion of the previous Superstar's look – right down to the signature Screaming Kid hitting the medial quarter. Flames lick up the midsole, the laces feature Hellstar's 'PATH TO PARADISE' tagline in graf script, and the heel features doubled zig-zag stitching along with a prominent co-branded heel tab – though here it lands in neon yellow rather than orange. There's also that flame-cut panel seething along the lateral, and the Three Stripes look as if they've been coloured in by hand (giving very 'doodling on your homework' energy).

Stay tuned to discover whether the Hellstar x adidas Superstar Cleat makes it out at Levi's Stadium – and enjoy the cursed charm of this blooming love affair above.
