Ja Morant may still be coaxing that calf injury away, but he just can't keep the pep out of his step – and once you clap eyes on the two new Ja 3 colourways in the pipeline, you won't blame him. How do we know they're coming? The same way we've heard about plenty of approaching Ja 3s – the man leaked them himself.

Since its launch in July this year, Morant's third signature kick has been busy rolling around the paintbox with total, unabashed euphoria. Most recently we saw the aptly titled 'At Dawn', featuring a dark-orange-to-pink gradient upper punctuated by black tiger-style streaks and a metallic blue Swoosh – and it's not even the loudest of the bunch. There's the 'Price of Admission' (aka 'Max Volume'), drenched in ‘Hyper Pink’ with smacks of ‘Mint Foam’, ‘Black’ and ‘Viotech’. There's the mismatched, discordant 'Hustle and 'Flow' – with one foot in ‘Soft Yellow’ and the other in ‘Purple Dynasty’, along with electric crackles of ‘Volt Tint’. And good luck tearing your eyes away from the 'Spooky Season' (aka 'Halloween', aka 'Zombie'), with enough lime green to sting your corneas and glow-in-the-dungeon slashes to boot. ‘I told the Nike design team I needed something that talks before I even lace it up,' Ja said of the 3 pre-launch – and good god, Beaverton listened.

In comparison to those palettes, the two new self-leaked colourways look almost muted – but it's guaranteed they're packed with the model's performance-tech clout. The Ja 3 features a full-length ZoomX midsole to deliver the cushioning and explosive energy previously reserved for elite running shoes, with recycled scraps embedded beneath a translucent rubber cupsole. The outsole's get-up is inspired by Ja’s ferocious ‘bulldog crossover’, with a micro-traction pattern that digs into surfaces for mega-sharp cuts and top-shelf pivot grip.

There's no telling when this fresh duo will actually land – but keep it locked to get the skinny as soon as more info arrives.
