The legendary collaborative line of UNDERCOVER’s Jun Takahashi and Nike could be returning for Holiday 2026. Dubbed GYAKUSOU, the imprint was one of the most pivotal running and fashion crossovers of all time… and Team Swoosh might’ve just cheekily teased a return.

In an article published to Nike’s news channels featuring the brand’s Chief Design Officer Martin Lotti, readers can clock an image that includes a plastic container with ‘GYAKUSOU HO26’ printed on the inside.

If Nike were to bring back the fabled initiative, 2026 would be the perfect opportunity – running culture is currently experiencing a huge boom, and continuing to grow year-on-year.

GYAKUSOU was born in 2010, with an aesthetic best described as ‘urban elegance meets functional futurism’. It wasn’t a simple one-and-done collaborative effort – the line stemmed from Takahashi’s own love for running, and each of the pieces were tried and tested by the designer’s running crew. The line’s apparel and footwear looked to function and movement as a primary mission, followed by unique design elements. For over a decade after GYAKUSOU launched, Takahashi and Nike continued to launch seasonal collections that were lapped up by a cult following. In 2021, the line came to an end, as UNDERCOVER started concentrating their efforts on Team Swoosh’s lifestyle offerings.

There’s no doubt GYAKUSOU was way ahead of its time, so a return in 2026 is huge for runners, sneakerheads and Japanese fashion nerds alike. Nike haven’t confirmed anything as of yet, but keep it locked right here to stay updated.
