Kevin Durant remains a committed Rocket, but this weekend he showed his devotion to the DMV's NFL squad. The power forward rocked a Washington Commanders-themed KD 18 PE on-court in Salt Lake City – and those things set the hardwood alight, with Houston securing a comfy victory against the Utah Jazz.
Durant is a lifelong devotee of the Commanders, often seen at games, events and even training camp. Back in 2022, he expressed shock that team owner Dan Snyder was looking to sell – and even told ESPN he'd love to be part of a buying group. 'NFL teams are precious, they're important,' he said. 'In a perfect world, I would be a part of it. I would love to give a little bit of my money to be a part of the Commanders, but we'll see.'
Ultimately, the Slim Reaper did not get his thumb in that burgundy-and-gold pie – the sale was made in mid-2023 to a group led by investor Josh Harris. But the outcome clearly didn't dampen Durant's admiration any, judging by his proud display of these heaters.
Check out the close-ups via above. Despite the enormous reaction these patent-leather beauties have received online, it's unlikely there'll be a wider release – but keep it locked, just in case.
