Reebok Officially Return to the Basketball Court in New WNBA Deal
Reebok’s history in basketball runs deep, and with stars like Shaq and Allen Iverson in executive roles as well as Angel Reese making waves on the court, it was only a matter of time before they were primed to hit the hardwood again. As of today, the brand has confirmed a new multi-year deal with the WNBA, making them an official footwear supplier to the league. In addition, Reebok will be working closely with the WNBA on co-branded content featuring their female athletes, including Reese and Lexie Brown.
Women’s basketball is an area that Reebok have been investing in for a while, with their women’s silhouettes dating back to the 80s. Their first women’s signature shoe followed in 1997, with Rebecca Lobo’s aptly named ‘The Lobo.’ Reese is set to be the second WNBA player to get her own signature shoe from Reebok, with the pair expected to drop in 2026. Though that’s a long time to wait, she has dropped her own collaborative collections with the brand and often fronts their campaigns.
Speaking on the deal, the WNBA’s Chief Growth Officer Colie Edison said, ‘The WNBA continues to grow with iconic brands, and we look forward to Reebok joining us in driving women’s basketball to new heights and inspiring the next generation. As we continue to capitalize on increased brand awareness, our work with Reebok is another step in bringing more fans to the game.’
Reebok Basketball’s Vice President Shaq continued with, ‘It’s an exciting time for Reebok, the WNBA, and the game of basketball overall. Reebok has always been committed to supporting the growth of the sport, and now with a strong plan, the right resources, and the welcoming arms of the WNBA, we’re ready to dive in headfirst with everything from product to players and more.’
The partnership also comes after a record-breaking season for the WNBA, which saw over 50 records smashed across player achievements and viewership numbers. Player deals have also ramped up this year, with some seriously big shoe deals making headlines over the past few months. Stay locked for all the latest!
