adidas Unveil the All-Terrain Adizero Evo SL ATR for Winter Running
Winter is in full force across the Northern Hemisphere, meaning three things: rain, icy pavements, and – for adidas – the launch of their newest all-terrain release, the Adizero Evo SL ATR. An evolution of the Evo SL silhouette, the ATR edition is built for runners who need a pair that can keep pace across seasons and surfaces, from paved streets to light off-road trails.
Positioned as a solution for runners who refuse to slow down when the weather turns, the model blends the lineage's signature lightness with traction tuned for unpredictable conditions. The Three stripes team design approached the update with a simple premise: a go-to model should deliver speed 365 days a year. That means better grip, better stability, and weather protection without losing the energetic ride the franchise is known for.
'When the weather turns and the roads get slushy, we don’t want runners to feel like their favourite shoe is no longer an option,' says Simon Lockett, global category director of running footwear at adidas. 'By adding subtle but powerful elements such as water repellency, improved grip, reflective detailing, and a more secure fit, we’ve created a version of the Evo SL that meets the demands of mixed terrain and all seasons.'
Visually, the model brings in shield tabs, reflective details and a protective mudguard texture, giving the ATR a performance-ready look that still feels clean and modern.
The key tech, meanwhile, includes a water-repellent woven ripstop upper, a Continental rubber outsole with 1.5mm lugs for dependable traction, and a full-length Lightstrike Pro midsole that keeps the ride smooth and responsive.
