adidas' Lightest Ever World Cup Boot Comes in at Just 130 Grams
With adidas’ super-light Adizero Adios Pro Evo 3 taking home the win at this year’s London Marathon, it would be easy to think the brand is fully focused on running. But that’s not the case. Instead, attention is now shifting from the road to the pitch, with the Three Stripes turning their focus to the biggest stage in football. Yup, the brand have just unveiled the F50 ‘Too Light’ pack, led by the HYPERFAST EVO, a 130g boot designed for all-out tempo and built for the demands of the World Cup.
Tipping the scales at a featherlight 130 grams, the new HYPERFAST EVO is crafted for pure acceleration and fast change, stripping back weight while keeping performance at elite level. Structurally, the cleat is built around a lean mesh upper and a streamlined structure that focuses on speed without taking away stability during movement.
The release marks a ongoing heavy push into lightness from Team Trefoil, building on previous advances across the F50 lineage. Alongside the EVO, the pack also includes the F50 Elite Laced and Elite Laceless, which focus more heavily on control and touch at high speed.
The Elite versions feature improved grip zones and upper materials made to improve ball contact during fast dribbling, while still keeping a lightweight build. Support systems across the collection are designed to lock the foot in place during heavy movement and quick direction changes.
‘This is a defining moment for the F50 franchise. The F50 HYPERFAST EVO represents the next step in the evolution of lightweight boot design, unlocking new levels of speed and performance for our athletes on the biggest stages,’ explains Sam Handy, adidas’ general football manager. ‘Every element has been built from the ground up with a relentless focus on reducing weight and enhancing responsiveness. To debut it at World Cup 2026 is incredibly exciting – not just for us, but for the game, as we look ahead to the defining moments our players will create while wearing them.’
The F50 HYPERFAST EVO and F50 HYPERFAST Elite are up for pre-order now, ahead of their May 7 launch via adidas and select retailers.
