Here’s What You Should Know Before Buying the adidas Hyperboost Edge
In 2026, the adidas running category is a cornucopia of pristine supershoes! Take a look at the recent Tokyo Marathon results, and you'll see the podiums were awash with Trefoils and stripes. Their roster currently features heavy-hitter elite runners like the Adios Pro Evo 2, more versatile speedsters like the Adios Pro 4, and daily trainers like the Evo SL. Today, the German sportswear powerhouse have added another stacked silhouette into the mix, dubbed the Hyperboost Edge – a non-plated, lightweight road runner that’s set to provide maximum comfort and supreme energy return.
‘We wanted to bring something truly transformative to runners,’ said Patrick Nava, GM of adidas Running. ‘Hyperboost Edge is where the Power of Three comes to life – cushioning, energy, and lightness combined seamlessly in one shoe. By harnessing these three elements without compromise, we’ve created a supertrainer that feels light on foot, responsive through every stride, and cushioned under impact – supporting runners across all types of mileage. This is just the beginning of what Hyperboost Pro can unlock across our performance portfolio.’
The adidas Hyperboost Edge is a supershoe, but doesn’t feature any stiffening or plated elements, like carbon fibre or Pebax. Instead, Team Trefoil have incorporated a brand new foam technology called Hyperboost Pro, that aims to give wearers maximum cushioning but doesn’t compromise on bounce. The goal was to make the Hyperboost Edge as versatile as possible, giving wearers the ability to rock ‘em for both daily training or extended runs. Further bolstering the foam is the use of heel pods that are said to target cushioning and provide extra stability. Further down below is a freshly designed outsole made from a material called LIGHTTRAXION, which is said to give wearers supreme grip while keeping as lightweight as possible.
Complementing the Hyperboost Pro foam-injected midsole is a PRIMEWEAVE upper that Team Trefoil have described as ‘hyper-light’. The woven fabric reportedly provides premium lockdown and a secure fit. In terms of design, the Hyperboost Edge boasts an ultra-modern, stripped back aesthetic, with the midsole at the centre and hidden eyelets. For the debut colourway, a crisp red and white has been chosen, with more iterations set to arrive in the coming months.
The adidas Hyperboost Edge will release on March 17 through the brand’s online store and brick-and-mortars – priced at $200.
More colourways are set to arrive on May 1, so keep it locked here to stay updated.
