Kader Sylla’s First Signature Is a Banger

Kader Sylla’s first adidas signature is finally here after months of teasers, and it looks epic! Simply dubbed the adidas Kader, the design pulls inspiration from 1990s models, and has been unveiled in two crisp colourways.

‘I wanted to make something that felt like me and that I’d actually want to wear every day,’ said Sylla. ‘We looked at a lot of different references and kept pushing until it felt right. It’s built for skating, but it doesn’t feel limited to the skatepark. I’m excited for people to experience it and take it wherever they go.’

Sylla is from Los Angeles and went pro for Baker Skateboards when he was just 16 – the same year he also joined the Supreme team. In 2021, he then signed to the ever-growing crew at adidas Skateboards, and five years later is now dropping his first signature sneaker with the brand. A 1990s adidas basketball model from the Three Stripes’ legendary Equipment line is the inspiration behind the Kader, building a board-ready mid-top that looks kind of like a hoop shoe. Up top is a mostly suede build, using adituff underlays for extreme durability that sit atop a full-length Lightmotion foam midsole. You can expect the drop to include a blacked-out iteration with purple Three Stripes, and a brown pair with snakeskin stripes.

Kicking off the adidas Kader launch will be a full North American tour, with Sylla hitting Minneapolis, Des Moines, Kansas City, Denver and Los Angeles. The tour will then move to Europe, Africa, Latin America and Asia in 2027.

The adidas Kader will drop early on October 16 at a special launch event in Los Angeles, on the last leg of the North American tour. You can expect a full global release through your local skate spots and adidas channels next year.
