Faster, bouncier and more explosive than ever, the Air Jordan 40 is packed with details built for the modern hooper. A premium upper construction delivers next-level support and protection, while strategic webbing wraps the foot for 360-degree containment, subtly referencing MJ’s six rings with six visible loops. Underfoot, a newly engineered traction pattern made up of 40-degree angles helps players stop, shift and accelerate with absolute precision.

It’s hard to believe that Michael Jordan’s high flying signature line is currently up to its 40th silhouette. And, while Jordan Brand and Nike haven’t announced anything as yet, the latest model is alleged to land this year. There've been plenty of leaks, but the latest may just be the authentic Air Jordan 40.
The model is slated to arrive as part of the brand’s Autumn offering, and this year is the perfect time to launch the AJ40 – it’s been 40 years since the Air Jordan 1 landed.
In terms of the latest leaks from , there’s nothing that definitively confirms that this is in fact Michael Jordan’s 40th signature. The design is modern, boasting a grey nubuck, neoprene and synthetic upper. Down below is a ZoomX foam midsole, and there's Jumpman branding on the tongue. Word has it that Leo Chang, legendary basketball sneaker designer, was involved in the model's planning process.
A July 12 release date for the Air Jordan 40 has been floated, but there’s no official confirmation as of yet.
