blacktoes x ASICS Are Keeping Running Low-Key With the SUPERBLAST 3 BT
Indie labels are really making themselves heard in the running colab space right now, with brands like Paris-based Satisfy – who just linked with adidas – absolutely smashing the game. Stepping in next are Shanghai-based creative studio , who are reworking the ASICS SUPERBLAST 3 BT into a release cushioned for long miles and everyday wear – but still with enough bounce to break into a faster rhythm.
‘Running doesn’t make noise, but changes,’ the brand notes on Instagram. ‘Sweat makes no sound – yet every step leaves its mark. It makes us believe that some changes only take legs, not likes. This is our quiet moves for the loud world.’
Launched earlier this year, the SUPERBLAST 3 is loaded with highlights such as a new FF LEAP foam setup and a slightly higher sole for extra power. Still, the project’s main flex is the heat-reactive logo that shifts with temperature – a small but clever detail that really lifts the overall design.
Rounding things out, carved textures and abstract wing-like graphics sit across the base nodding to change and motion, while tying the whole design back to ideas of transformation and flow.
Expanding on the SUPERBLAST family, the SUPERBLAST 3 comes in 10 grams lighter than its 2024 predecessor, while landing somewhere between the MEGABLAST and SONICBLAST, yet keeps things more controlled overall.
The blacktoes x ASICS SUPERBLAST 3 BT will launch exclusively in Shanghai on 30 May, before releasing across China on 1 June.
