The Converse SHAI 001 Starts 2026 on a ‘Clean Slate’
The SHAI 001 dominated headlines in 2025. Following the Christmas-themed ‘Winter Red’, Converse and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander are now set to kick off 2026 with a ‘Clean Slate’.
SGA is no stranger to a monochromatic build, with his first signature almost always donning a single tone – it works, so why stop now? Just ahead of this year’s holiday celebrations we sat down with SGA, and he told us why this was the case: ‘The silhouette of the SHAI 001 is so bold and pronounced, I wanted a more subtle palette that complemented the shape. Basically, I wanted the shoe to do the talking instead of relying on loud colourways. Giving people a window into who I am off the court through the shoe has been an added bonus.’
The brand new ‘Clean Slate’ has been adorned in a crisp ‘Triple White’ construction, built using the usual synthetic leather and neoprene. Down below, all the usual tech is in place with a forefoot Zoom Air unit providing energy return and an over-lasted midsole for extra stability.
There’s only one catch with the SHAI 001 ‘Clean Slate’ – they’re set to be limited! Converse have announced a release date on January 2, so make sure you’re not still hungover from New Year’s Eve and good luck.
