Jeremy Scott’s 'Money Wings' Take Flight on the Gridiron
Missouri-born Jeremy Scott and adidas go way back. First teaming up in 2002 for the '!Signed' project, the irreverent creative turned heads by offering his own twist on a silk jacquard motif of scattered money for the classic Forum high-top – a silhouette handmade at the Three Stripes' Germany factory, with only 100 pairs produced.
Later came a series of outrageously theatrical models that transformed the likes of the Forum, Superstar and Stan Smith into walking performances. However, arguably the most iconic of Scott’s collaborations, the 'Money Wings 2.0' has remained a conversation-starter, reimagined in 2021 and now back for 2026.
This new iteration takes the signature wings and mock dollar bills from the Forum and adapts them into a football cleat, complete with a pegged sole for on-field traction. The wings won’t make a receiver fly faster, but visually? They’re impossible to miss, from high school stadiums to NFL arenas!
Did ya know?: Beyond sneakers, Scott’s wings have taken flight on everything from Smart cars to baby prams, turning ordinary objects into over-the-top statements.
