A New Day: The Jordan Tatum 5 Is Ready to Take Control

Jayson Tatum is wiping the slate clean, as he returns to the hardwood for his next NBA season with the Boston Celtics, sporting his latest signature shoe on-foot. Locked in and ready to reestablish his on-court dominance, the Celtics star and Jordan Brand have officially unveiled the Tatum 5.

Modelled after Tatum’s playing style and approach to competition, his fifth silhouette has been designed to help players move with confidence and block out all distractions as they make their way to the basket. The most noticeable feature is the utility strap across the upper – a first for Tatum’s line and built to enhance containment without adding any unnecessary weight. Responsive energy return is provided via a 10mm forefoot Air Zoom unit, while the molded midfoot wrap and heel structure ensure stability during quick-thinking changes in direction. Additionally, the herringbone traction pattern on the outsole is composed of HART 2.0 rubber for better grip, and mesh panels on the medial side keep the shoe breathable.

Personalized details also appear in the form of Tatum’s jersey number ‘0’ on the heel, shaped to mimic the structure of the St. Louis Gateway Arch landmark from his hometown, as well as five strikes at the rear of the right shoe to acknowledge the injury to his Achilles. The Tatum 5 debut colourway is titled ‘Sunrise’, landing in a cotton candy-coloured sky blend of purple, pink, and peach, with a darker black, red, and orange ‘Sunset’ iteration arriving further down the line – the two representing his committed work ethic from dusk to dawn.

The Jordan Tatum 5 ‘Sunrise’ is set to launch on September 24 in China, with a global release to follow.
