This year’s World Cup has seen many sportswear brands craft an array of special boots for their signature players, and now it’s PUMA’s turn! Today, after Neymar came off the bench for the first time this World Cup, The Big Cat announced a special pair that was designed by KidSuper for the Brazilian superstar.
‘Neymar is one of my hero’s,’ said KidSuper. ‘We're around the same age, which makes it even crazier to be collaborating with someone I've looked up to since I was ten years old. I hope these boots bring him a little luck heading into the World Cup. More than anything, I hope he wins the whole thing.’
The boot chosen for this special edition was the PUMA FUTURE, and arrives in a bold yellow construction and is themed around the phoenix. KidSuper has added special details throughout, including a phoenix graphic, green Big Cat logo and a sockliner inspired by Neymar’s ‘Brazilian Boy’ tattoo.
‘This is a special boot for to me,’ Neymar said. ‘The Phoenix is my story. Every time people counted me out, I came back. The yellow, the details in the sole, the symbols: all of it is personal. I wanted people to look at this boot and feel what I feel every time I put it on and step onto the pitch for Brazil.’
The FUTURE boot boasts a FUZIONFIT upper, with specialised 3D grip zones and GripControl Pro that enhances ball feel and promotes expert touches. Down below, a FLEXGILITY outsole bolsters agile movements and is built for all the madness of match day.
