Ronnie Fieg Reveals New Kith K-Tech x On Running Silhouettes
Just when you think Ronnie Fieg has done every project imaginable, he comes back with another monstrous partnership to shake up the globe. His latest work with On goes beyond just a standard colab, as Fieg has co-designed two new performance running silhouettes with the Swiss footwear brand from the ground up, under Kith’s K-Tech line.
The Kith founder shared multiple videos giving a behind-the-scenes look at the development process, revealing various samples alongside the final products. Kith lettering was initially set to appear within the midsole of the CloudTec tooling, but ultimately they decided to go with their Kith monogram logo across the outsole. Both models share the same cushioning underfoot, while the uppers use different design choices.
A more minimalist approach was taken on the K-Tech 1 for a sleek, performance-driven build, with Kith branding appearing on a small flag near the toe and a heat transfer On logo popping up on the medial side. The K-Tech 2 is layered with synthetic paneling and blends Kith branding into the ‘o’ logo on the lateral side. Both models are set to release in a variety of colourways, ranging between monochrome neutral tones, and a mix of green, navy, and burgundy hues.
Kith was previously tapped by On to help introduce the Cloudzone model, but this will be the first time they have their hands in the actual engineering, marking a shift from their usual involvement on a colab. No release details have been confirmed as of yet, but Fieg mentioned the lookbook for this project rolling out next week, hinting that the launch could happen sooner than later.
