Nike ACG’s Zegama Boot Is Tuned for Technical Terrain
Nike ACG are keeping things cooking with the launch of a new silhouette built for the outdoors. Bringing the division’s most advanced performance innovations into hiking footwear, the Zegama Hike is made for outdoor athletes who need stability, protection and cushioning no matter the conditions or terrain.
Marking the brand’s first dedicated hiking silhouette following its recent reintro, the Zegama Hike builds on the roots of the Zegama Trail runner, mixing its lightweight responsiveness into a form designed for longer, more demanding conditions. The result is a hybrid approach that moves between running and hiking, reflecting a shift in how outdoor footwear is expected to perform today.
‘[The] Zegama Hike is disruptive for all the right reasons, bringing the best of Nike innovation into hiking and delivering a holistic system that puts the athlete’s needs at the centre,’ says Brenden McAleese, director of ACG footwear. ‘ACG is doing what the brand does best: dreaming up performance gear wrapped in ACG-only magic.’
The silhouette is built with comfort in mind, designed to keep things easy and supported from the first step. A trail-specific last offers extra space through the forefoot and toe box, supporting longer wear, while a dual-layer foam build combines additional cushioning and protection. A responsive layer of ZoomX foam sits closest to the foot, supported by a firmer compound that increases stability across uneven ground.
Support is carried through the upper, where a mid-cut structure works alongside a remixed fit system to stabilise the ankle and heel on technical ground. Reinforced components add durability, while an integrated gaiter helps keep debris out without compromising comfort. Underfoot, Vibram Megagrip ensures reliable traction across wet and dry surfaces, with a wider base providing added control on descents, bringing a sense of confidence to varied terrain.
