The Nike Book 2 Goes ‘Oogie Boogie’ for Halloween

We can always tell when Halloween is approaching, because our TL starts to fill up with spooky-season sneakers! This year is looking positively stacked with the Air Force 1 inspired by Ghostface, a ferocious new Ja 4 colourway, a moody Air Jordan 5, and now Devin Booker’s second signature in a colourway themed after The Nightmare Before Christmas villain Oogie Boogie.

Last year, the Book 1 participated in Nike Basketball’s stacked Halloween roster, coming in a ‘Scorpion’ build with blacked-out upper and glow-in-the-dark midsole. Halloween 2024 was the first time Nike drew inspiration from 1993’s The Nightmare Before Christmas for the line, giving the Book 1 Jack Skellington-esque stitching around the Swoosh. This time around on the Book 2, the Tim Burton film gets another look-in, but draws from the character Oogie Boogie – the evil bag of bugs.

The entire upper of this Book 2 comes in an off-white shade, with a mix of suede, mesh and leather that evoke Oogie’s burlap-sack body. Exposed stitching reaches the mudguard panel, with a faux-fur Swoosh and complementary black laces. The tongue features special logo details surrounded by the slimy green of Oogie’s lair, and each pair is expected to come with a (maybe haunted) Devin Booker mask.

The Nike Book 2 ‘Oogie Boogie’ is expected to release as part of Team Swoosh’s Halloween offering on October 30 through the usual channels.
