Back in 2024, Nike did a little tinkering with their road-running lineup by separating it into a three-family, three-tier system. In the new arrangement, there’s the Vomero franchise for maximum cushioning, the Pegasus line that favours responsiveness, and the Structure built for supreme support. Within each of these families are the Icon, Plus and Premium tiers – the Icon as the standard core model, Plus as the upgraded version, and the Premium silhouette which boasts the most top-shelf tech.
Nike are slowly unveiling upgrades to each of their franchises, and the latest leaked look to emerge is the Pegasus Plus 2. This iteration arrives two years after the first Pegasus, a somewhat overlooked silhouette due to its landing head-to-head with the vastly superior Pegasus Premium – however, fresh images of the Plus 2 may have just flipped that imbalance on its head.
The clearest look yet at the Pegasus Plus 2 has circled on socials today, and the biggest change is the midsole – which now features Zoom Air. There are currently no specs released just yet, but the upper boasts what looks like engineered mesh, sitting atop a ZoomX foam midsole.
A release date hasn’t been set for the Nike Pegasus Plus 2, but a drop is expected toward the back end of 2026 or the start of 2027.
