Nike SB aren’t resting on the laurels of a retro catalogue stacked with SB Dunks and SB Blazers – instead they’re dropping a swathe of new heavy hitters for modern skaters. Most of the newer models arrived in 2024, fresh for the Paris Olympics – including the PS8, which was designed in partnership with the Swoosh’s Sport Research Lab Team. There’s also been other low-cut silhouettes like the SB Vertebrae and SB Malor, alongside Nyjah Huston’s fourth signature and Ishod Wair’s second. Today, official imagery of the latest creation from Team Swoosh’s skateboarding arm has emerged, and it’s dubbed the Code 58.

This fresh-faced silhouette arrives after 2021’s Force 58, and follows a similar vein with a heritage basketball design inspiration. The upper half of the Code 58 is dressed in suede across the heel, eyestays and toe box. Ballistic mesh adorns the midfoot panel and tongue, with leather Swooshes along the lateral and medial. The entire Code 58 silhouette exudes a 2010s skate-shoe vibe, with padded tongue and a collar that boasts a distinctly utilitarian nature – no frills, just a daily skate shoe. For the debut colourway, Nike SB have kept it low-key with a blacked-out upper, gum outsole and white branding touches.

The Nike SB Code 58 hasn’t been locked in with an exact release date just yet, but expect ‘em to land at your local and through Team Swoosh’s online channels this June.
