Just when you thought stability running shoes couldn’t get any more responsive, Nike introduces the Structure Plus! The new silhouette takes the midfoot support system of the Structure 26, and adds loads of cushioning for a softer feel with increased energy return.

‘We saw an opportunity to bring more cushioning and a more fun, energetic ride to stability shoes,’ says Ashley Campbell, expert product line manager at Nike Running. ‘With ZoomX foam appearing alongside ReactX for the first time in our Structure line, the Structure Plus delivers a softer, more responsive ride while maintaining the support runners expect.’

The pairing of the support system (which wraps around the medial arch and lateral heel) with the ZoomX foam midsole and ReactX foam carrier helps to reduce impact on the body, and provides an amped underfoot sensation for everyday training and long runs.

Standing as the tallest pair ever within the franchise, the Structure Plus comes in with a 32-millimeter stack height in the forefoot and 42-millimeter stack height in the heel. Wider nets through the midfoot ensure stability, while high-abrasion rubber in the heel certifies top-notch traction and durability in high-impact zones. Additionally, blown rubber in the forefoot provides consistent softness and ground feel.

Sitting atop all this tech is an engineered mesh upper that delivers zonal breathability with structural overlays to help secure the foot. Plushness in the collar and tongue add comfort and containment, contributing to an improved fit.

‘The Structure Plus works not in contrast to the Structure 26, but in conjunction – building on the silhouette with a bit more foam to keep you from pounding the pavement,’ says Cooper Teare, a Nike athlete and two-time US champion in the 1500 meter run. ‘The Structure Plus takes the fluidity and stability of the Structure 26 one step further by giving you extra cushion without sacrificing any efficiency.’

Bright red and lime green tones will appear on the launch pairs when the Structure Plus drops exclusively via running specialty stores worldwide on January 8, with a wider release through Nike’s website and retailers on February 5.
