Best known for footwear like the street style gallery-conquering Camion Boot, cool-guy menswear favourite Our Legacy are now turning their attention to performance.

Having already teamed up with Nike stablemate Converse, the Swedish label is joining forces with the Swoosh itself, according to The Business of Fashion. The partnership will operate through the Our Legacy Work Shop upcycling arm, with a collection of technical apparel and entirely new footwear silhouettes slated for 2027.

Spanning menswear and womenswear, the range is aimed at the ‘all-day athlete’, pairing Nike's innovation know-how with Our Legacy's understated, subculturally attuned design MO. The result is running gear that moves away from overtly technical styling.

Ahead of the 2027 launch, the partners are planning a series of teaser projects that will rework vintage Nike products and deadstock materials. The full collection will be available through both brands' own channels and select retailers, with co-founder Jockum Hallin keen to avoid the blink-and-you'll-miss-it approach to limited collaborations. ‘It's going to be something we want people to experience’, he explained.

‘It's nothing that is already existing that we're just putting a colour on. It's built from scratch’, added Jarrett Reynolds, Nike's vice president and creative director of energy collaborations.

That running is enjoying unprecedented cultural visibility is hardly a secret, but what's interesting is how the relationship between performance giants and niche labels is evolving. Where earlier crossovers like Engineered Garments x HOKA largely reinterpreted existing footwear for a fashion audience, partnerships like SATISFY x adidas and Our Legacy x Nike suggest the advent of a more functional brief.

What the sneakers will actually look like remains to be seen, but don't expect your usual race-day fare.
