The Whitaker Group (TWG) are slotting another rocket into their ‘Do Not Duplicate’ run with adidas, and this one’s truly worthy of the brouhaha. Soaring in behind the partnership’s debut of the spankin’-new BW 2000 silhouette in April comes this triple-stack, firework-spangled ‘Fourth of July’ Pack – but the model it elevates is a warmly familiar one.

The pack champions the Adizero Evo SL, adidas’ hugely popular daily trainer which delivers supershoe tech (such as its famous full-length Lightstrike Pro foam midsole) at a sliver of the usual price. TWG have previously turned their dexterous design-eye to the model, releasing the sunny ‘Do Not Duplicate: Dayglow’ Pack in April – and the ‘Fourth of July’ Pack takes that aesthetic language and cranks it up to astral heights. Each of the three pairs brings its own aerosol-gradient, multicoloured mixture of neons and dark tones with contrasting Three Stripes. Metal co-branded hangtags declare the ‘Do Not Duplicate’ message.

It was back in March that adidas and The Whitaker Group – the James Whitner-led collective behind retailers A Ma Maniére, Social Status, APB and JAIDE – unveiled ‘Do Not Duplicate’. It was introduced as a new cultural platform celebrating individuality, instinct and the IRL experiences that shape how we encounter sport and style, all guided by the core tenet that true cultural influence can’t be simulated. The very first ‘Do Not Duplicate’ release was the ‘Houston Rodeo’ Pack, a saddleful of adidas Originals silhouettes inspired by Western riding culture – and it looks like this already bountiful partnership has a pile more pack-ideas in transit.

The Whitaker Group x adidas Adizero Evo SL ‘Fourth of July’ Pack had a Whitaker Group-exclusive release on the eponymous holiday itself, but the wider drop hits on July 10 through adidas’ channels.
