Not every run can be at supercharged pace with the sole objective of slicing seconds off your PB. Sometimes, you just need to reset your legs on a go-to neighbourhood route – and the Big Cat understand. After launching the energy-fuelled Deviate Pure NITRO just last month, PUMA are hitting the pavement with their latest everyday trainer: the Velocity NITRO 5.

Designed to be suitable for any training session – whether it be a recovery run or a mile-annihilator kind of day – the Velocity NITRO 5 offers the dependable cushioning and durability needed to keep getting out there. ‘The Velocity franchise has become a favourite among runners because it delivers exactly what they need from an everyday trainer,’ says PUMA Product Manager Conor Cashin. ‘With the Velocity NITRO 5, we've refined the ride even further through enhanced cushioning, lightweight construction and everyday versatility, creating a shoe that feels just as comfortable on short runs as it does over longer distances.’

The premium engineered mesh upper improves the breathability and stretch of the silhouette, while a wider NITROFOAM platform and a higher stack in the forefoot deliver an upgraded underfoot experience to provide maximum energy return. Weighing just 230 grams and equipped with a durable PUMAGRIP outsole to ensure reliable multi-surface traction, the Big Cat’s newest running model is built to last – with an expected lifespan of up to 800km (500 miles).

The PUMA Velocity Nitro 5 is set to launch on July 9 via PUMA’s website, flagship stores, and select retailers, for a price of $140.
