Nike and California’s Renegade Running have a history of linking up, from leading workshops through the Swoosh's sustainability-focused 'Re-Create' programme, to helping local running groups. Founded by former public school mentor Victor Diaz, the brand opened their first store in Oakland in 2020 before expanding to LA, building a space that celebrates stride culture and the neighbourhoods around it.

Turning past colabs into something bigger, the duo are now set to release their first official drop, made up of two styles that celebrate Diaz’s roots and the communities behind the brand. The chosen models are the Vomero Premium and VaporFly 4 – a duo of designs that cover everything from day-to-day road running to race-day performance – each arriving in a 'Brown Basalt' base with desert-inspired accents.

On the Vomero Premium, the usual Uptempo-style 'AIR' lettering is switched out for typography drawn from the Renegade logo, while 'Total Orange' hits on the visible Zoom Air bags add fuel to the design. The VaporFly 4 keeps it cleaner, with orange Renegade branding on the medial side as its standout detail. Both feature subtle 'Barrios Unidos' messaging – Spanish for 'united neighbourhoods' – connecting the release back to the communities that inspired it.

The Renegade x Nike Vomero Premium and VaporFly 4 lands April 1 at Renegade – both in-store and online – before hitting SNKRS and select retailers for a wider drop on April 4.

In other news, London-based label Maharishi have dropped a second colab with Mizuno.
