SGA's 'Goodbye' Buffet: Here's Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's Farewell Converse Collection

That’s right, friends and neighbours – it’s time to wave goodbye to Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s legendary Converse liaison, as the OKC Thunder point guard shifts over to Nike Basketball. The last hurrah comprises a two-stack of his wildly popular SHAI 001 signature silhouette and a slew of apparel that embodies the athlete’s relaxed and confident style.

There’s sweats (fleecy hoodies and pants), outerwear (warm-up jackets and pants), and cotton-heavy long-sleeves and tees, all in neutral colours – it’s the sneakers are where the zaps of colour come in. The ‘Shock’ colourway is a blacked-out beauty with neon green hitting the lacing and the tongue, on which SGA’s logo lands in shiny, embroidered black for contrast. The ‘Spark’ colourway starts with a very light grey base build and the same tone on the embroidered logo, with the pop coming as a summery banana-yellow on the tongue and laces.

SGA’s maiden signature sneaker has had an incredible run by even the biggest critics’ metrics. Launched on September 4 last year in the warm ‘Butter’ colourway, the sculptural, zippered silhouette was an immediate hit. Later that year the holiday-themed ‘Winter Red’ brought brightly contrasting Christmas colours into the mix, alongside the snowy ‘Clean Slate’. Early 2026 saw a three-stack of new colours inspired by members of Shai’s family, and not far behind was the ‘Ares Grey’, drawing inspo from Shai’s young son. In February, the 001 went luxe in premium ‘Truffle’ nubuck (with all tech specs intact), and March brought us the rosy ‘Blush’ and patterned ‘Camo’ editions. April was the rich, navy-blue ‘Ink’, May was the metallic-silver ‘Steel’, and July hosted the slithering ‘Python’ print. That month also delivered the lace-up edition – but the SHAI 001 will best be remembered for its smooth shroud, and its ability to spark insane hype with only a singular new all-over colour.

The upcoming SHAI 001 collection, including both the ‘Shock’ and ‘Spark’ silhouettes, pulls up via Converse’s regular channels and select retailers on September 24.
