Family Ties Fuel the Latest SHAI 001 Colourways

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Converse signature has already dropped buckets on the sneakerverse – selling out in under 10 minutes, and quickly cementing itself as one of the most in-demand hoops shoes on the market. Now, Converse and Shai have unveiled the next chapter: three new colourways dropping this October.

The update sees the SHAI 001 arrive in 'Charm Black', 'Hail Clay' and 'Masi Blue', each one rooted in the MVP's personal life and the people who shape his journey. More than just new designs, each colourway act as tribute, offering a deeper look into the mind of an athlete who plays with purpose.

Drawing from his mother, the first shade reflects her elegance and the ruthless instinct Shai carries on the court – calm, composed and merciless. The second palette is inspired by Shai's wife, pulling from her eye colour and capturing the quiet strength, support and balance she brings to the athlete's life – also mirroring the smooth-but-sharp way he moves on the floor. Paying tribute to his brother, the last colour channels their shared calm and stoic energy while tipping its hat to Hamilton, Ontario, echoing icy winters and unshakable bonds. Finally, each iteration also carries the same performance features as the 'Butter' release: radial traction for control, forefoot Zoom Air for energy return and an over-lasted midsole for stability.
