Fumito Ganryu Rework The Salomon ULTRA
An alumni of the University of Comme des Garçons, Fumito Ganryu has been making a name for himself within the fashion scene under his eponymous label. Within the sneakerscape, you may have heard of him through the many collaborations he’s been a part of. Their third collaborative project has just been unveiled, and it’s on a lesser known Salomon silhouette called the ULTRA.
A winterised look has reached the shoe, and from what we can tell by the imagery provided, the collaborative duo have opted to keep the usual ULTRA build but elevate the look with a shroud that envelops most of the upper. It also offers a more streamlined, sleek aesthetic that gives off seriously modern vibes. Keeping with the functional theme, Fumito Ganryu has hit the outsole with Contragrip and a zipper allowing for easy access to the laces. Making his mark, Ganryu splashes his branding on the medial and lateral.
The Fumito Ganryu x Salomon ULTRA will hit select stockists on February 12, and then on Salomon’s webstore on February 16.
