The Nike SB PS8 'Olympic Safari' Has Arrived
Nike SB are launching their PS8 on July 24 at skate shops around the globe as part of their 'Olympic Safari' pack. Also in this pack will be a Blazer Mid and Janoski.
A month out from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, and you best believe brands are starting to roll out their themed product for both competition and lifestyle. One of the most highly anticipated drops of 2024 is the Nike SB PS8, and fresh official eComm images have emerged ahead of the alleged mid-year drop. Stay locked to Sneaker Freaker to keep updated.
Nike SB Dunks have remained pretty dominant over the past year or so, with releases from Futura, Born x Raised and April Skateboards all embracing the crossover between skate culture and streetwear. That being said, as the 2024 Olympics roll around, the Swoosh have recalibrated to focus on the performance side of skating, and have since introduced the Nike SB PS8. Now, the brand has confirmed that a Paris-centric colourway will be dropping.
Originally revealed during Nike’s ‘On Air’ event in the French capital, the Nike SB PS8 marks a step forward for skate shoes. The name itself is shorthand for Problem Solver 8, and sure enough the shoe has been designed to alleviate eight common issues commonly found in skate shoes and Nike SB products. Designed in partnership with the Swoosh’s Sport Research Lab Team, some of the improvements include the ability to withstand impact during tricks better, as well improved feel and contact with the board underfoot. In addition, the model features flightknit uppers for a lightweight feel and added breathability, as well as leather panels on high-stress areas to help with durability.
In terms of its colourway, this Safari-inspired, Paris-themed pair forms part of the wider Paris-themed SB Pack, which includes a Janoski and SB Dunk too. Familiar hues of orange and blue grace the uppers, the former featuring on the sock liner and underfoot, and the latter on the laces and midsoles. The pair’s leather panelling sports the familiar spotted pattern, while the uppers remain understated in ‘Sail’.
As it stands, we’re still waiting to hear of a release date for the Nike SB PS8 ‘Paris Olympics’ but stay tuned for more information as it comes in.
