Air Force 1

Designed by Bruce Kilgore and released in 1982, the Nike Air Force 1 is a cultural phenomenon. Named after the airplane that transports the president of the USA, the Air Force 1 was also the first basketball shoe to feature Nike’s patented ‘Air’ technology. Adopted with pride by New Yorkers as the ‘Uptown’, the Air Force 1 is a cultural signifier to hip hop fans, worn with pride by everyone from Jay-Z to Nelly. It's perhaps best known in the ‘white-on-white’ colourway, which continues to sell by the truckload to this day.
