Hold the press – Jerry Lorenzo and his Fear of God Athletics line aren't finished yet. Responding to a recent Substack story that alleged the imminent end of the partnership, Lorenzo reiterated to Complex that the Fear of God Athletics remain committed to their goals.

‘With adidas, we have the Fear of God II coming at the end of this year,’ Lorenzo told Complex on Tuesday. ‘The III hits Holiday ‘25. After that, the future will be determined by the promise fulfilled by these next two performance shoes.’ Team Trefoil also echoed the sentiments to fashion industry analyst and Snobette co-founder Lois Sakany: ‘While we don’t comment on the details of our contracts, we can confirm we are already working on exciting plans for 2025 together,’ adidas said.

Originally announced in December 2020, Jerry Lorenzo joined adidas to lead the creative and business strategy of the adidas basketball division. Aiming to bridge Fear of God’s design ethos with adidas' vaunted athletic heritage, the partnership marked a significant acquisition for adidas, especially given that Lorenzo had previously launched several successful silhouettes with Nike.

Since the partnership was announced, however, actual product has been sparse. So far, we’ve seen a handful of designs, including the aptly-dubbed One Model and the Los Angeles Runner.

One can only hope this will be the proverbial kick in the backside Fear of God needed to correct their sluggish start. As always, keep it locked to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
