A'ja Wilson had quite a year and she's rounding it out by inking a major contract extension with the Swoosh. WNBA fans have been patiently awaiting the A'One since the announcement back in May 2024, but this news suggests we'll be looking forward to plenty of signatures to follow. Wilson's new deal sees her gear up for six more years with Nike, with sources telling ESPN that the deal is 'one of the biggest shoe deals in WNBA history'. The finer details have not been confirmed, but the A'One has since been locked in for a SS25 release. As always, stay tuned for more info as it comes in!

Selected by the Las Vegas Aces as the first overall pick in the 2018 WNBA Draft, superstar hooper A’ja Wilson has wasted no time in her fledgling career, with the 27-year-old already securing two WNBA championships, a Finals MVP and an Olympic gold medal.

Over the weekend, Nike announced A’ja Wilson as the latest member of their star-studded women’s roster, and the team at Beaverton revealed that a debut collection has been in the works for more than a year. Revolving around Wilson’s distinct style, performance and ‘unapologetic realness’, the collection will also feature a shoe launching in 2025.

‘It’s been incredible working with Nike toward a dream of having my collection, and it really is an honour to take this next step and become a Nike signature athlete,’ says Wilson. ‘From my logo to the look of the shoe and the pieces throughout the collection, we’ve worked to make sure every detail is perfectly tuned to my game and style.’

While no specific details have been revealed as yet, the model is being designed by Nike footwear veteran Ben Nethongkome, whose recent credits include the Book 1.

‘The experience working with A’ja on her collection reflects who she is on the court and in the locker room,’ says Nethongkome. ‘She’s a natural leader. I think her team is built around her and she’s able to be that leader, that voice. She makes everyone feel comfortable to be who they are. And that, I feel like, was the secret sauce in working together on this collection.’

Wilson now joins a star-studded roster of signature athletes, including Serena Williams, Naomi Osaka, Megan Rapinoe, and Sabrina Ionescu.
