When you’ve just raised a banner, you might as well dress for the part. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander rolled into OKC’s ring ceremony wearing the kind of flex that money literally can’t buy – the Converse SHAI 001 ‘Banner’ PE.

Dipped in trophy tones, the pair keeps it clean up top with a white moulded shell, and pours liquid gold across the midsole, toe wrap, and hardware. Shai’s interlocking ‘SS’ logo gleams on the tongue like jewellery, while his poise does the rest.

The ‘Banner’ keeps the same high-performance guts that built his debut signature: a stability-tuned frame, serious grip underfoot, and Converse’s plush cushioning system that keeps him gliding like the hardwood’s made of butter.

The ‘Banner’ wasn’t just for show, either. The colour combo hit the hardwood for the first time during OKC’s 2025–26 season opener against the Houston Rockets, the same night Shai received his championship ring. True to form, he let the game do the talking, cruising to a 28-point, 8-assist masterclass built on pace, patience, and pure control.

From the ground up, the SHAI 001 marked a rebirth for Converse Basketball. Unveiled during All-Star Weekend in San Francisco, the silhouette sports a sculpted one-piece upper with a zip-up shroud and inner bootie that locks you in for every cut. Shai played an active role in the design too, shaping it to reflect his minimalist aesthetic and calm-under-pressure persona. Hell, he even sketched the damn thing!

For now, this gold-plated moment’s a one-off for the Thunder star. No drop date, no raffle, no apologies. Just an icy reminder that the Converse SHAI 001 is officially championship-certified.
