Nike are sending the Book 1 off in style – or more accurately, in smoke. The new Nike Book 1 ‘Rise From the Ashes’ is the silhouette’s farewell performance before the Book 2 era kicks down the door, and it goes out like a scorched manuscript pulled straight from a phoenix nest. Burnt-edge detailing creeps across the upper, the Swoosh looks like it’s been held over an open flame, and the midsole carries that soot-stained fade that says ‘I’ve seen some things, fam.’

Devin Booker laced the colourway on-court before switching to the Book 2, turning this pair into a symbolic hand-off. One chapter closes, the next gets lit. Literally.

And that next instalment is already heating up. Nike officially unveiled the Book 2 yesterday, confirming a January 2026 debut with a sleeker build, forefoot Zoom Air, and a beefed-up Cushlon platform designed to give Booker more pop off the hardwood. The early colourways lean straight into desert mythology – sun-blasted oranges, heat-shimmer purples, and enough Phoenix energy to fry a lens cap. A matching apparel pack joins the rollout too, pushing that off-duty, sun-dazed swagger Booker keeps orbiting. If Book 1 was the origin story, Book 2 is being teed up as the breakout season.

And in classic Nike fashion, ‘Rise From the Ashes’ is a PE only – no release date, no SNKRS drop, no chance for the public to touch it. Booker got his pairs, and the rest of us just get the photos.
