adidas Recharge the Crazy Line with the All-New Crazy Energy+
adidas’s latest hoops entrant, the Crazy Energy+, marks an intriguing next chapter for one of the brand’s most expressive performance lines. While the Crazy family has deep roots in 90s basketball design – re-imagined over decades from the original Crazy 1 to wild contemporary takes like the Crazy IIInfinity – the Crazy Energy+ pushes the silhouette into a sleeker, speed-oriented future that feels at once familiar and forward-thinking.
Early images reveal an upper with bold, sculptural overlays that jut above a moulded base, giving the shoe a retro-futuristic vibe that’s less bulky and more streamlined than past Crazy designs. Two initial colourways – a carbon fibre metallic and a dazzle camouflage – highlight how adidas are balancing heritage cues with a fresh aesthetic that could resonate both on court and in the street.
Performance is where the Crazy Energy+ really stakes its claim. adidas confirm the use of LIGHTSTRIKE Pro cushioning in the midsole – a premium, lightweight foam setup engineered for responsive energy return and quick movements. This suggests the shoe is tuned for guards and dynamic players who demand speed without sacrificing impact protection.
Built with a structured yet comfortable fit and a regular collar that supports mobility, the Crazy Energy+ seems aimed at bridging the gap between high-end performance and everyday wearability. It also comes with a premium $150 retail tag, positioning it above many signature models in adidas’s current lineup.
No firm release date has been announced beyond a 2026 window, but anticipation is already building for what could be one of adidas’ most exciting non-signature basketball releases of 2026.
