The adidas EVO SL ‘Equipment’ Toughens Up the Speed Formula
adidas are doubling down on one of their hottest current silhouettes. The Three Stripes are expanding the reach of the adiZero EVO SL with the launch of the Equipment – a new variation that pushes the performance-rooted model into tougher territory.
Now entering its third calendar year on shelves, the adiZero EVO SL has undisputedly become one of the brand’s most trusty crossover hits. Originally created as a pure performance runner, the model’s lightweight build, modern cushioning setup and affordable price point have kept it in heavy rotation.
When it comes to the Equipment, the update centres on durability. While the cushioning remains consistent with previous in-line releases – maintaining the same responsive, everyday-ready ride – the upper sees subtle but meaningful adjustments.
Thin yet sturdy overlays reinforce high-abrasion areas, preserving the featherweight construction underneath while adding structure where it matters most. Underfoot, a patch of Continental rubber bolsters traction, spotlighting a build better suited for harsher conditions and longer wear.
It’s also not the first time the runner has been reworked. Back in December, adidas introduced the SL ALTR, an earlier attempt at adapting the streamlined runner for more varied terrain. The pair leaned into subtle tooling adjustments and grip upgrades, testing the waters for a more rugged direction.
Enjoy a closer look above and keep it locked for more on the adidas EVO SL 'Equipment' as it comes in.
