The Air Jordan 11 ‘Rare Air’ Steps Onto the Diamond
Jordan Brand are flipping the script on one of their most iconic silhouettes once again. As part of the Air Jordan 11’s ongoing 30th anniversary celebrations, the recently unveiled ‘Rare Air’ colourway is stepping off the hardwood and onto the diamond via the Air Jordan 11 ‘Rare Air’ MCS Baseball Cleats.
At first glance, the DNA is unmistakable. The cleats retain the AJ11’s signature mix of smooth leather and glossy patent mudguards, dressed in a clean 'Sail' base with hits of 'Royal Blue' and red that nod to classic Jordan Brand heritage. From the ankle collar down, the shape stays faithful to the original, ensuring the silhouette still reads as pure Jordan 11 – even without a ring in sight.
Underfoot is where things shift into performance mode. The traditional rubber outsole is replaced with a moulded MCS cleated plate built specifically for baseball, offering traction and stability for quick cuts, explosive take-offs, and hard sprints out of the batter’s box. Unlike novelty conversions of retro sneakers, this is a functional piece of equipment designed to be worn in competition.
The Air Jordan 11 ‘Rare Air’ MCS continues the Jordan Brand’s growing push into sport-specific footwear, following previous AJ11 adaptations for football and other field sports. Expected it to land early 2026 with a retail price around $225.
