Air Jordan 7 ‘Tennis Day’ Channels Vintage Andre Agassi Energy
Jordan Brand are set to serve up another take on one of their most storied silhouettes in 2026 with the Air Jordan 7 ‘Tennis Day’, a fresh remix timed to coincide with the US Open later this year. Scheduled to launch in September, this iteration injects a vibrant, sport-inspired energy into the classic AJ7 platform and nods to tennis culture in both palette and personality.
Rather than landing as just another seasonal colourway, the ‘Tennis Day’ concept draws clear inspiration from Nike’s iconic Air Tech Challenge 2 – the 1990 performance tennis shoe famously worn by Andre Agassi. Designed by Tinker Hatfield, the ATC2 shattered the all-white dress code of traditional tennis footwear, introducing neon hits, aggressive blocking, and a rule-breaking attitude that mirrored Agassi’s on-court persona. Over time, it became one of Nike’s most recognisable tennis silhouettes and a cornerstone of the brand’s crossover appeal between sport and street.

That disruptive DNA carries over to the AJ7 through a gaudy mix of ‘Phantom’, ‘Lemon Twist’, ‘Pink Blast’, and ‘Anthracite’, echoing the expressive colour language of the early 90s. Though official images are still pending, early reports point to a mesh base with nubuck overlays, with possible splatter detailing on the midsole as a subtle nod to the ATC’s graphic energy. The silhouette itself remains unchanged, preserving the AJ7’s sculpted lines, neoprene bootie construction, and visible Air cushioning underfoot.
With adult sizing priced at $215 and grade-school editions also expected, the Air Jordan 7 ‘Tennis Day’ shapes up as a grandstand crossover.
