Shai’s Converse SHAI 001 Gets the LUX ‘Truffle’ Treatment

Converse and their lodestar Shai Gilgeous-Alexander have shifted gears with the latest expression of his signature silhouette. The Converse SHAI 001 LUX is the first time the signature model has been elevated into true luxury territory, pairing premium materials with the same athletic DNA that made the model a breakout hit last year.

Clad in a deep, earthy brown dubbed ‘Truffle’, this release feels closer to artisanal footwear than a standard hoops drop. Premium nubuck wraps the sculpted upper with a rich, tactile finish that plays beautifully in the light, giving the shoe a refined, handcrafted feel. Subtle touches like gold-foil sockliners and streamlined overlays keep the look understated but intentional, pushing the SHAI 001 firmly into off-court territory without losing any of its edge.

Importantly, the LUX treatment doesn’t come at the expense of performance. The SHAI 001’s core architecture remains intact, with responsive cushioning underfoot, multidirectional traction and a stable, controlled ride designed for Shai’s smooth, deceptive style of play.

The rollout aligns neatly with 2026 NBA All-Star Weekend, with early access drops through The Shai Lounge and Undefeated La Brea, followed by a Foot Locker activation before a wider, limited global release later in February. Expect a retail price around $170.
