Flagg Planted: New Balance Launch Cooper Flagg’s First Shoe
Cooper Flagg hasn’t played a single NBA minute yet, but New Balance are already betting the farm. The brand has officially laced the number 1 pick with his first PE-style colourway on the Hesi Low v2 – a signal that Flagg is the next pillar in NB Hoops.
The Hesi Low v2 ‘Cooper Flagg’ keeps things cold and calculated. Muted greys and bone uppers set the stage, broken only by mossy green hits along the sole and lace cables – a subtle salute to Flagg’s Maine origins and New Balance’s New England DNA. It’s a palette built for business, not showboating, and that restraint mirrors Flagg’s playing style: poised, pressure-proof, and built for late-game daggers.
Performance-wise, the Hesi v2 sticks to NB’s emerging hoop formula – FuelCell cushioning, low-riding support, and a sculpted lockdown frame designed for two-way killers. Retail is set at $120, which signals something important: New Balance don’t want this to be a unicorn PE. They want it worn in high school gyms, AAU circuits and blacktops across America.
Now, this isn’t a signature shoe… yet. But make no mistake – this drop is just the opening scene. With Kawhi and Jamal Murray already flying the New Balance flag, Flagg arrives as the future franchise. If he delivers under the bright lights, this Hesi v2 will be remembered as ground zero for a new NB hoops era.
Cooper Flag’s New Balance Hesi v2 is booked to land on October 22. As always, keep your eyes glued to Sneaker Freaker for updates.
