New Balance Basketball is hoping their star athlete Kawhi Leonard can make a return to the court for the 2024/25 NBA season, despite lingering issues with his right knee – a problem that has persisted since the end of the 2023/24 season. Still, the basketball department won’t have all their eggs in the Board Man’s basket, as evidenced by their deals with other stars like NBA champion Jamal Murray, Zach LaVine and Tyrese Maxey.

Of course, New Balance will also be offering plenty of product for fans outside of their signature products. Inspired by video games, a popular pastime for NBA players often on the road, the new 'Tactical Pack' features remixed versions of the Fresh Foam BB V2, the TWO WXY V5, and the Hesi Low V2. Taking visual cues from video game skins and camo patterns, the pack is a not-so-subtle reference to team-based tactical shooters like Call of Duty (sans the official licensing). The most lively of the bunch is no doubt the TWO WXY V5 ‘Raine’ rendition, a frosty fire starter inspired by armour worn in snowy battlegrounds. Elsewhere, the Hesi Low V2 ‘Stone’ has desert warfare written all over it, while fans of night vision goggles and light-out interiors will certainly gravitate toward the Fresh Foam BB V2 ‘Nightfrost’. All three models are set for on-court action via the feet of New Balance athletes Zach LaVine, Jamal Murray, and Tyrese Maxey.

The New Balance ‘Tactical Pack’ is slated to release on November 1.
