New Balance Launches Superhero-Inspired Tyrese Maxey Two-Pack Punch
After a breakout All-Star season and a Most Improved Player nod, Tyrese Maxey is cashing in on his momentum – both on-court and on-foot. Now, the Philadelphia 76ers guard is teaming up with New Balance for his first official sneaker drop: a two-shoe collection featuring the Hesi Low V2 and a teched-out 1906R PE.
The Hesi Low V2, designed for performance on the hardwood, arrives in a cool grey-blue mesh with teal and purple TPU accents, FuelCell midsoles, and an insole featuring Maxey’s signature within a comic-style speech bubble. It’s a lightweight, spring-loaded sneaker built for explosive guards.
Meanwhile, the 1906R PE is all about off-court energy. Muted canvas, leather overlays, pastel eyelets, and yellow laces come together in a lifestyle colourway that still nods to NB’s tech heritage.
'This pack means a lot to me because it brings together two things I’ve always loved – basketball and superheroes,' says Maxey. 'I wanted the shoes to feel fast, bold, and creative, just like the way I play.
'The 1906R is one of my favourite lifestyle sneakers, so being able to design a version that matches my on-court pair was really fun. New Balance gave me the freedom to tell my story, and I hope it inspires people to find the hero in themselves.'
Despite a rocky season for the Sixers, Tyrese Maxey stood as a consistent standout. Over 52 games, he averaged 26.3 points, 6.1 assists, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.8 steals – career-best marks across multiple categories. He delivered an ironman stretch of at least ten consecutive 25-point games, underscoring his offensive reliability even as the team faltered.
Maxey joins a growing New Balance basketball roster that includes Kawhi Leonard, Jamal Murray, Dejounte Murray, and Darius Bazley, as well as rising WNBA star Cameron Brink.
