The has been a pivotal force in shaping success in recent years. Like many of Salomon’s models, the XT-6 climbed into the limelight alongside the Gorpcore aesthetic populating runways and streetwear all over the world. The interest in hiking and trail-adjacent sneakers doesn’t seem to be waning in 2023, with Japanese sneaker boutique now scaling the zeitgeist with Salomon for the very first time.
Dubbed ‘Stars Collide’, the project was based on the concept of ‘celestial collision’. The colourway takes cues from the moment when stardust is scattered across the universe. Paying homage to the ‘star pattern’ that was liberally utilised on atmos’ past projects in the early 2000s (when atmos was first founded in Harajuku), the collaboration also channels one of the eye-opening activities you can do in your Salomon sneakers: night mountain trail runs.
‘This being the first collaboration with Salomon we are more than excited for the release’, says Kojima ‘Koji’ Hirofume, atmos global creative director. ‘The design concept was created using Salomon’s backbone, night mountain trail runs. The idea of stargazing and star-filled nights spent outside as the inspiration of the design.’
