The Nike LeBron 22 ‘What the Monopoly’ is Pure Money
LeBron James continues to expand his prodigious sneaker lineup, this time teaming up with the creators of the iconic Monopoly board game: Hasbro. Last year, the duo celebrated Monopoly Day with a special edition of the game honoring pivotal moments in LeBron’s illustrious career. The release included custom game pieces, like championship rings and jerseys, along with 'Bron Bucks' in place of traditional currency. To complement the collaboration, Nike also dropped the LeBron 22 ‘Currency’ and ‘Token’ colourways.
Now, Nike have officially unveiled the next instalment in the series: the psychedelic ‘What the Monopoly’ colourway, set to release in the coming weeks. This vibrant tie-dye design draws inspiration from the colourful faux currency featured in the board game and boasts unique details such as an embroidered dice tag on the lateral heel and a Monopoly-branded collar tag. Adding to the theme, the shoes come in a custom box that cleverly mimics the classic Monopoly board.
In terms of the engine room down below, the LeBron 22 is equipped with Cushlon 2.0 foam throughout the midsole and Zoom Air units in the heel to facilitate responsive propulsion and soft landings.
The Nike LeBron 22 ‘What the Monopoly’ will be available at retailers starting January 23, priced at $200, which is $20 more than other LeBron 22 colourways.
